Field Hockey Lose a Hard Fought Game to Anna Maria
CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Elms College Field Hockey team hosted Anna Maria College for a conference matchup Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter would see Elms take three shots early, the first shot from first-year Olivia Michalman (Suffield, Conn.) being blocked, then the last shot coming from the stick of junior Elizabeth Franzoni (Rutland, Vt.) to score the first goal of the game. Anna Maria would take over the offensive momentum, with the AMCats taking six shots. First-year Emily Hunt (Montrose, N.Y.) would make three saves and the Blazers defense would make one block, but Anna Maria would tie the game 1-1. The AMCats continued their offensive pressure in the second quarter, taking five shots throughout the quarter. AMC would score in the 24th minute to take the lead going into halftime.
The third quarter would see the Blazers offense be woken up after a shot from sophomore Olivia Ward (Harwick, Mass.). Hunt would make a save, but Anna Maria would out shoot Elms 4 to 1 in the quarter. The fourth and final quarter would see both teams trade possession. Hunt would make three saves to help keep the Blazers within one goal of tying the game. Senior Nina Bourassa (West Springfield, Mass.) and junior Kaitlyn Lynes (South Hadley, Mass.) would both take shots during the quarter, but they would both be saved, and Anna Maria would come away with the win, 2-1.
