Field Hockey Concludes 2024 Season at Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Elms College Field Hockey team traveled to Colby-Sawyer College for their final conference and regular season game of the 2024 season Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

At the start of the first quarter, Colby-Sawyer would take ten shots in the opening ten minutes of play, with the Chargers scoring only twice in that span of time, with first-year goaltender Emily Hunt (Montrose, N.Y.) making five saves and the Elms defense recording two blocks. The Chargers would score once more in the opening quarter, but the Blazers defense would hold strong with Hunt adding an additional four saves. The second quarter would again see CSC on the offensive, scoring an additional four goals before the end of the half. Hunt would make five saves in the second quarter, but Colby-Sawyer would keep Elms at an arms' length with a 7-0 lead going into the halftime break.

The third quarter would begin with the Chargers taking five shots in the opening minutes, and Hunt would make each of the five saves to keep their opponent from adding to their lead. The Blazers would see six more saves from Hunt and two more blocks by their defense, but Colby-Sawyer would add four more goals and defeat Elms 11-0 in the regular season finale.
