Records: Blazers 0-7, 0-3 (GNAC) | Lyons 6-3, 0-1 (NEWMAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Mount Holyoke would come out of the gate with a shot in the opening 30 seconds, and continue to create offensive pressure on the Elms defense, but first-year goaltender Emily Hunt (Montrose, N.Y.) would make two saves before the Lyons were able to find the back of the net for the opening goal of the game. MHC would continue to take shots on the Blazers, but were unsuccessful. Hunt would add four more saves before the end of the first quarter. The second quarter would be a similar narrative as Mount Holyoke would take six shots in the first 20 minutes, with Hunt adding three more saves and the Elms defense making two blocks. Unfortunately, the Lyons would score their second goal of the game. The third quarter would begin with Mount Holyoke taking more shots early, but the Elms defense would hold strong, with Hunt making four more saves and a defensive save by first-year forward/defender Lily Sheridan (Ashby, Mass.), but the Lyons would score once again before the end of the quarter. MHC would extend their lead in the fourth and final quarter, scoring three more goals to win the game 6-0.
