Lapar Tabbed as Next Head Coach of Field Hockey Program

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College Athletic Department has announced Rachel Lapar (Wolfeboro, NH) as the next head coach of its field hockey program.

"The Blazer family is extremely excited in welcoming Coach Lapar on board to our already excellent and talented coaching staff," said Elms College athletic director Dr. Michael Theulen. "Her background and passion for field hockey and for STUDENT-Athletes made her an obvious choice for us."

When asked about the joining the Elms athletic staff Lapar said, "The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams. I could not be more blessed and excited to start my biggest adventure -- coaching field hockey -- at Elms College. From the beginning of my hiring process, I knew the energy, support, and direction this community and program is going in is where I want to be, and more than exciting to be a part of. I am ready to contribute to the Blazers family. Let's go Blazers!"

Prior to becoming the head coach, Lapar helped coach club teams out of Rhode Island, northern Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

After graduating from College of the Holy Cross she joined Lead The Way Field Hockey Club in Rhode Island and northern Massachusetts. In the winter of 2019, she ran her own field hockey club sessions for eight weeks in New Hampshire.

As a student-athlete, Lapar started three out of her four years, missing sophomore year due to injury. Lapar graduated from Holy Cross in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Over the years she received Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, All-Patriot League Second Team honors, veteran leader in the Holy Cross Leadership Academy, and Senior Co-Captain.
