Blazers Selected Seventh In NECC Field Hockey Preseason Poll

Mansfield, Mass. – In its first year as an associate member of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), Thomas College has been tabbed field hockey preseason favorites with 46 points and four first-place votes. 

Elms will look to shake things up in 2019 after being selected seventh in the preseason coaches' poll. "It'll be a challenging schedule that will demand our best, most cohesive efforts," said Coach Goodhue of the 2019 season. The Blazers bring back several key players from a year ago, Carissa Ramirez (San Diego, CA) and Evelyn DeVaux (Wethersfield, CT) were both All-NECC selections in 2018. Maddy Gabel (Agawam, MA.), Nora Newman (Woburn, MA) and Ellie Serra (Palmer, MA) all had a big impact last year and are back in 2019.

The Blazers open their season on the road at Colby-Sawyer on Friday 8/30 at 1:00pm.
