Springfield, MA – The Elms College field hockey team lost 4-0 on the road at Springfield College on Saturday afternoon. With the loss the Blazers drop to (1-6) on the season.
Elms would hang tough with hosts and finish the opening quarter all tied up at 0-0. The Pride would start to take control of the game applying constant pressure on the Blazer goal. The Pride would break though and score their first goal at the 25:20 mark, they would strike again just three minutes later, doubling their lead to 2-0.
Springfield would continue to carry the play in the second half. The Pride would pick up two more goals, finding the back of the Blazer cage at the 52:17 mark and again in the 55th minute, and go on to take the game 4-0.
Elms would only get off two shots on the day, one from Maddie Gabel (Agawam, MA) and the other from Katelyn Jones (San Diego, CA) .
Nora Newman (Woburn, MA) would pick up 14 saves in the game for the Blazers.
Elms is back in action on Tuesday 9/24 when they host Rivier College at 7:00PM on Leary Field.
