CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College field hockey Head Coach Anika Goodhue (first season) has announced the Blazers schedule for the 2016 season. The Blazers are slated for 18 contests this fall, including 11 matches at Leary Field and ten New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) matches.

The Blazers return in 2016 after making their fourth straight appearance in the NECC Championship semifinals, falling to Becker College, 4-0, who went on to win the 2015 title. The Green and Gold compiled a 5-16 record last season, with a 5-5 mark in conference play.

Elms will open the season with a non-conference road trip to Westfield State on September 1. The Blazers will host three straight non-conference matches at Leary Field, battling Colby-Sawyer in their home opener on September 4, followed by WPI (Sept. 10) and Anna Maria (Sept. 13). Elms heads back on the road for a pair of tilts before returning to Leary to face Mount Ida on September 22.

The Blazers kick off conference play on September 24 against host Bay Path, but the contest will be played at Leary Field. Elms will play a pair of crucial back-to-back conference games at Leary Field, facing Wheelock on October 5 and then defending champions Becker on October 8. After a road trip to Regis (Oct. 11), the Blazers host Bay Path (Oct. 15) and Daniel Webster (Oct. 19) at Leary Field, and then head out for their final road trip against Wheelock (Oct. 22) and Becker (Oct. 25). Elms wraps up the regular season with a battle against Regis on October 29.

The NECC Championship semifinals will be played on November 2, followed by the title game on November 5.
