
Women's Soccer Loses 3-0 to Regis in Regular Season Finale
WESTON, Mass. - The Elms College Women's Soccer team traveled to Regis College in a conference matchup Tuesday evening to conclude their regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The conference foes would kick off the game each recording a saved shot in the opening three minutes of play, with senior goalkeeper Mackenzie Quick (Barrington, N.H.) making the first save of the game and junior forward Jamie McDonough (Dedham, Mass.) taking the first shot of the game for Elms. The two foes would trade possession and shots, with Quick making an additional five saves, along with four shots taken by McDonough, sophomore midfielders Lilli Ramos (Springfield, Mass.), and Emily Basua (Oxnard, Cali.), but none would find the back of the net. In the 33rd minute of play, the Pride would be the first to put themselves on the board after scoring a goal for a 1-0 lead. The Blazers would try to fight back with a shot from sophomore forward Kaylee Little (Brighton, Mass.), but the halftime whistle would blow, and Regis would keep their 1-0 lead going into the halftime break.
The Pride would continue their offensive pressure after the halftime break, taking nine shots. Quick would record two saves, including a penalty shot in the 58th minute. Elms would see a shot from junior midfielder Ava Denault (Palmer, Mass.) but it would go above the crossbar. Shortly after, Regis would see themselves score once again in the 74th minute, to extend their lead to 2-0. In the 80th minute, the Pride would take three shots on net, Quick would be able to make two saves, but the third would be able to find the back of the net to bring Regis' lead to 3-0. The Blazers would continue their efforts to cut down their opponent's lead, after shots from Little and senior midfielder Emma Cote (Ludlow, Mass.), but both shots would be unsuccessful. The two sides would trade possession until the final whistle blew, as the Pride would defeat the Blazers 3-0 in their final contest of the 2024 regular season.
