Emmanuel Gets By Women’s Soccer at Home

CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Elms College Women's Soccer team hosted Emmanuel College in a conference matchup Wednesday evening at Leary Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The opening half would see offensive pressure from Emmanuel early on, with the Saints taking five shots in the first 17 minutes, followed by the first goal scored in the 18th minute. Emmanuel would continue to add more pressure to the Blazers defense, taking an additional seven shots. Elms would counter that pressure following a shot from graduate student Hannah Kolodziey (East Longmeadow, Mass.), but the Saints would then respond with a second goal. Blazers sophomore forward Kaylee Little (Brighton, Mass.) would take another shot, but Emmanuel would add a third goal before the end of the first half.

The second half would see a similar start with the Saints continuing their momentum offensively from the first half, taking eight additional shots. Graduate student goalkeeper Hailey Magierowski (Brimfield, Mass.) would record five saves of those eight shots. Junior forward Jordan Lee (Hampden, Mass.) would take one final shot for Elms before Emmanuel would score two more goals in the final minutes of the game to win the game 5-0.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Magierowski would tie a season high making 16 saves.

• Kolodziey, Lee, and Little would take the three shots for the Blazers.
