Blazers Picked Third In 2019 NECC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Defending champions Lesley University top the 2019 NECC Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, collecting 48 points, including six first place selections. 

Landing in third with 39 total points and the remaining first place vote, is Elms College. Under the direction of head coach Sean Milbier, the Blazers have reached five of the last six NECC Championship games. "We have a solid group coming back and a talented group coming in, we fully expect to compete for the conference championship" Milbier shared when asked about the upcoming season.  Elms will once again be strong in goal, as they return All-NECC Goalkeeper, Rebecca Molin (West Hartford, CT) Molin was second in the league in goals-against-average at 1.05.  Elms' top goal scorer from a season ago, Sydney Goodwin (Lawrence, MA) will also return for the Blazers after tallying eight goals in her rookie campaign.

The Blazers open up their season at home when they host Albertus Magnus on Friday 8/30 at 7:00PM on Leary Field.
