Blazers Drop Non-Conference Game At Roger Williams

Bristol, RI - The Elms College women's soccer team dropped a road game on Sunday afternoon 2-0 at Roger Williams University. The Blazers slip to 6-4-1 on the season.

Elms got off to a solid start, controlling most of the play and creating several opportunities inside the Hawks 18 yard box. The Blazers were unable to convert on any of their chances sending the game into the brake all tied up 0-0.

Roger Williams would get the better of the play in the second half, but the Blazer back-line would hold off the Hawks from getting any real chances early on. The best chance of the game for Elms came in the 63rd minute. Sydney Goodwin (Lawrence, MA) would dribble through three Hawks defenders and rip a shot from 20 yards out that would ring off of the cross bar.

Roger Williams would open the scoring at the 73:41 mark on a free kick. The Hawks would double their lead just a minute later with a finish from inside the Blazer 18 yard box and go on the take the game 2-0.

Goodwin would lead Elms in shots with three, hitting the frame twice. Becca Molin (West Hartford, CT) would have seven saves on the day.

The Blazers are back in action on Wednesday 10/2 when they travel to Westfiled State University at 3:30PM.
