Blazer Golf Wraps Up Spring Campaign With 14th-Place Finish at Wildcat Spring Invitational

CRANSTON, R.I. – The Elms College men's golf team finished its spring season with a 14th-place finish at the 19-team Wildcat Spring Invitational at Cranston Country Club hosted by Johnson & Wales on Sunday.

The Blazers shot seven strokes better than Saturday as a team, posting a 328 (44-over par) on Sunday but fell one position, from 13th to 14th, in the final standings after posting an overall team score of 663.

Chris Soderberg shot a team-best 78, one stroke better than his Saturday round of 79, and had a team-best T14 individual finish. Matt King and William Marchand each shot 82 on Sunday, improving from their Saturday rounds but three and four shots, respectively. Mike Fleury shot 86 and John Keegan posted a 90 for Elms.

Husson University won the tournament with a 602, comfortably ahead of second-place Western New England which finished at 614.

WNE's John Abbott took individual honors after back-to-back 73s earned him a three-shot victory over Endicott's Athan Goulas and Husson's Mackenzie Clow.
