Blazers Finish 13th At Spring-Opening RIC Invitational

WARWICK, R.I. – The Elms College men's golf team finished 13th out of 15 teams at the Rhode Island College Spring Invitational to open the spring portion of the season on Saturday. The tournament was played at Valley Country Club, and was shortened from 36 to 18 holes after poor conditions cancelled the scheduled 18-hole round on Friday.

Chris Soderberg led the Blazers with a 79 to finish tied for 18th individually. Matt King shot 83 to tie for 41st, John Keegan shot 85 and finished tied for 52nd, Frankie Murray shot 88 to tie for 64th, and Devin Senerchia shot 100 to finish 74th individually as the Blazers posted a team score of 335 (+47).

Host Rhode Island College won the tournament with a team score of 305 (+17) while Babson was just two strokes behind at 307 (+19). Roger Williams finished a distant third at 314 (+26).

Elms has two spring tournaments remaining on the schedule, competing at the UMass Dartmouth Spring Invitational (April 13-14) and the Johnson & Whales Wildcats Spring Invitational (April 21-22).
