Blazers Sit In 13th Midway Through Wildcat Spring Invitational

CRANSTON, R.I. -- The Elms College men's golf team sits in 13th place out of 19 teams after one round of the 36-hole Wildcat Spring Invitational hosted by Johnson & Wales at Cranston Country Club.

The Blazers are at 51-over par 335, five strokes behind 12th-place Roger Williams and 29 behind 18-hole leader Western New England (+22/306).

Chris Soderberg is tied for 19th individually after firing an 8-over par 79 for the Blazers. Matt King and John Keegan each shot 85 on Saturday and head into the final round tied for 59th, one stroke ahead of teammate William Marchand (86) and two ahead of Mike Fleury (87).

WNE's John Abbott is the individual 18-hole leader after shooting 73.

The tournament is the final event of the spring season for Elms, and concludes with another 18 holes on Sunday.
