Lynes Makes 13 Saves Against Chargers

NEW LONDON, NH - The Elms College field hockey team came up short against the Colby Sawyer Chargers, falling 6-1. Kaitlyn Lynes protected the cage as best she could against the Charger offensive push recording 13 saves in the contest.

How it Happened

The Chargers came out strong in the first half out shooting the Blazers 10-1, sneaking in four goals with two in the first quarter. Elms' Victoria Accorsi put the Blazers on the board with a goal in the second quarter asssited by post grade Ellie Serra. Blazers goalkeeper Kaitlyn Lynes stayed on her toes in the first having three saves. Colby Sawyer would lead 4-1 heading into the half.

Colby ramped up their offense in the second having 17 shots for the half, sneaking in two more goals in the fourth quarter. Despite the offensive drive by the chargers Lynes stayed calm in the goal and continued protecting the cage attaining 10 more saves, ending the with 13 for the contest. The Blazers would fall 6-1 on Saturday morning.
