Blazers Stumble Against Sharks

BOSTON, MA - The Elms College women's field hockey team fell to GNAC opponent, Simmons College 8-0 this afternoon on Daly Field.

How it Happened:

Blazers Kaitlyn Lynes kept it a scoreless first quarter with one save. Elm's Abbie Sierzego and Samantha Bonneau both had defensive saves in the first quarter to contribute to the scoreless quarter. Senior Katie Jones two shots on goal attempting to crack the scoreboard for the Blazers but was saved by goalkeeper Emma Sheehan and Lilah Gandreau with a defensive save.

The Sharks opened the flood gates and went to score five goals in the second quarter, leading 5-0 going into the half. Simmons led in shots 11-1 in the second quarter, 15-3 in the first half.

The third and fourth quarters was controlled by the simmons offense, having 10-0 in shots for the second half. Blazers Lynes had five saves in the second half, totaling 12 in the game. Elms would fall to the Sharks 8-0 at the final.
