Maffuccio and Vilar Goals Secure Win Over Bulldogs in GNAC Match

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College women's soccer team defeats the Dean College Bulldogs 2-1 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference match up on Leary Field. Blazers goals scored by Emily Maffuccio assisted by Emily Kibler and Elaina Vilar, unassisted.

The Blazers get the victory over Dean College Bulldogs. Blazers put the pressure on early in the first half with 16 shots on net. Bulldog's goalie Haley Gaunt held her own until the last two minutes when Blazer's Emily Maffuccio finds the back of the net, scoring the first goal of the game. Maffuccio's goal was assisted by Emily Kibler, ending the half with 1-0 lead over the Bulldogs. Blazer's goalie Angela Picheo ends the first half with a shutout. 

 The Blazer's energy continues into the second half when Elaina Vilar scores the Blazer's second goal at 60:28, bumping their lead to 2. Bulldogs close the lead when they get on the board with their first goal of the game at 74:53 by Nina Medeiro, assisted by Elizabeth McGowan. Blazers get the win over Bulldogs 2-1. 

Blazers hit the road on Wednesday for their match up against Anna Maria at 7PM.
