1st Half How it Happened

The match started off with an equal display of talent, both teams fighting to get a shot on-goal but neither being successful for the first couple minutes of play. Keene led 4-2 in shots, scoring off of a header by Owls Elizabeth Kopicko at the 10:40 mark off of a corner kick by Alexa Kinner. The Owls had another scoring opportunity but it was blocked by the Blazers defense. Elms forward Emily Maffuccio (Pittsfield, MA) almost put the Blazers on the board when she received a cross ball that slipped right past the Owls defensive back, but it just slightly grazed over the top crossbar at the 20 minute mark. The Owls lead 1-0 heading into the half.

2nd Half How it Happened

Elms forward Elaina Vilar (Watertown, CT) started off the half flying past the Keene defenders and getting a shot on-goal, but was saved by Owls goalkeeper Sonia Moritz. The Owls ramped up their offense and began firing off shots, testing the junior goalkeeper Angela Picheo (Wood-Ridge, NJ) who had 4 saves within five minutes of play. Keenes' Kopicko had the magic touch getting another header off of a corner kick by teammate Skinner to put the Owls up 2-0 at the 51:54 mark.

The Blazers' Kelly Malheiros (Centereach, NY) combative push almost cracked the scoreboard in the 79th minute with a shot on-goal which was saved by Moritz to secure the Owls victory. Keene State wins 2-0.
