Pasquel Selected as GNAC Player Of The Week

CHICOPEE, MA - Women's soccer senior captain Kayla Pasquel has been selected by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference as 'Women's Soccer Player of the Week' for the week of Sept. 25 - Oct. 2.

Kayla Pasquel had a phenominal week during the Elms College women's soccer contests against two GNAC teams this past week. The Blazers matched up against the Simmons University Sharks on Wednesday, Sept 28th on Daly Field where the senior captain led the team to a 2-0 victory. The forward from North Attleboro, MA scored both goals, one off of a free kick that perfectly slipped right between the cross bar and the Sharks goalkeepers hands. Not only was one goal enough for the senior but she also cracked in a second goal to seal the Blazers win.

This past weekend Elms hosted Lasell University Lasers on Leary Field for a GNAC match up on Saturday, Oct. 1. Pasquel made sure to play a huge roll in the contest, as the Blazers were down 2-1 late in the second half. Pasquel found her opportunity to set upteammate Caroline Wilcox with a leading ball towards the Lasers net. Wilcox fired a shot hitting the back of the net scoring the equalizer goal assisted by one of her captains. Pasquel's assist led the Blazers to draw with the Lasers.

With Pasquels performance this past weekend it has put the Blazers conference record at (2-2-2), seated 8th in the conference.

The Blazers are back on Leary Field to host the Saint Jospeh's (ME) Monks Wendesday, October 5th at 7PM for the GNAC match up. You can head to ecblazers.com to follow all the live action.
