Blazer Draw With Falcons

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College women's soccer team draws with conference team, Albertus Magnus Falcons 1-1. Blazers new comer Ciersten Palumbo (Holbrook, NY) scored her first goal as a Blazer putting Elms up 1-0 at the half.

How it Happened:

Blazers took the lead early in the game. Blazer Ciersten Palumbo made her debut by scoring Blazers only goal in the first half at 7 minute mark making the score 1-0. Blazers offence tried to advance their lead in the first half with 6 shots on net. Falcon's goalie Amy Steven only allowed one goal in against the tough Blazers offence. The Falcons worked hard to answer back but fell short going into the half. Blazers goalie Angela Picheo dominated in net with a first half shut out.

Blazers begin the second half with a strong 1-0 lead. Both teams battled back and forth for most of the second when Falcons Victoria Jainchill ties up the game at 82nd mark in the game. Just seonds later the Blazers Kelly Malheiro answers back with a shot on net. Malherior's shot is saved by Falcons goalie Stevens. Falcons make two last attempts to gain the lead. Blazers goalie Picheo makes two big saves to end the hard fought game in a 1-1 draw.
