NORTHFIELD, VT - The Elms College women's soccer team heads home after a 2-0 conference victory over the Norwich University Cadets on Sabine Field this afternoon.

Score: Elms 2 | Norwich 0

Records: Elms (2-4-1)(1-2-0) | Norwich (2-4-1)(0-2-1)

The Blazers outshot the Cadets 11-4, which included a 9-4 advantage in shots on-goal. Caroline Wilcox and Kayla Pasquel logged each of the goals scored in the second half to secure the win for Elms.

The two teams were at a 0-0 deadlock through the first half, with an equal 3-3 on overall shots with the Blazers following close to the Cadets with two shots on goal behind their three. Elms' Gianna Liquori was agile in the goal, stopping all 4 shots the Cadets had against her.

The Blazers were undefendable along the sidelines as they were quick and precise with their passing. In the 50th minute, Elms' Wilcox charged the Norwich goalkeeper as she was receiving a pass back from her teammate. Cadets goalkeeper tries to clear the ball away from Wilcox but clears it directly at Wilcox as she deflects it into the net to break the scoreless match, putting the Blazers up 1-0.

Late in the second half around the 85th minute Blazers are awarded a penalty kick, which is taken by senior captain Kayla Pasquel. Pasquel rips the shot past the goalkeeper securing the win over the Cadets.
