BANGOR, Maine – A pair of late goals by UMass.-Boston ended the Elms women's soccer team's bid at the Courtyard by Marriott Classic hosted by Husson on Sunday as the Blazers fell 2-1.
Elms took a 1-0 lead in the 70th minute on a goal from Jordan Bailey (Monson, Mass.). UMass.-Boston then tied it in the 84th minute before getting a game-winner in the 89th minute from Cal Pitts.
The loss drops Elms to 2-2-1 on the season while UMass.-Boston improves to 2-2.
UMass.-Boston held a 20-5 advantage in shots in the game and Blazer goalkeeper Rebecca (West Hartford, Conn.) Molin made six saves.
After opening the season with five straight games away from home, Elms will host Fitchburg State in the home-opener on Sept. 12.
