37 Elms Fall Sport Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-NECC Recognition
MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Thirty eight Elms College fall sport student-athletes were recognized with New England Collegiate Conference Fall Academic All-Conference honors, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.
In order to be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference honors, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4,00, and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's cross country, men's golf, field hockey, men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball were eligible for the award.
Elms' 38 honorees was the second most of any school in the conference, behind the 40 honorees from New England College.
Blazer women's soccer led the way with 11 selections, while the men's cross country team had six and men's golf team had five. Women's cross country, field hockey, men's soccer and women's volleyball each placed four student-athletes on the list.
A record 212 student-athletes conference-wide earned the Academic All-Conference distinction, edging the previous NECC record of 210 honorees in the spring of 2017.
