ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College senior forward Adam O'Grady (Somers, Conn.) and freshman defender Scott Labrie (Southampton, Mass.) were named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Players of the Week in men's soccer as announced by the league office on Monday.
Adam O'Grady earned NECC Player of the Week following the Blazers' second consecutive conference championship. He netted a goal on a penalty in the title game against Newbury College – part of a 5-0 win over the Nighthawks, and added an assist in each of Elms' two postseason contests. For his efforts, he was named to the all-tournament team and was named the tournament most valuable player.
Labrie was named the NECC Rookie of the Week after helping Elms keep a pair of clean sheets in postseason play. In addition to providing stellar defense, Labrie also assisted on Elms' game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Lesley University in the tournament semifinals setting up the Blazers' second straight trip to the title game.
