DANBURY, CT – The Elms College men's basketball team suffer an 88-50 setback on the road at Western Connecticut State University on Tuesday night. The loss drops the Blazers to (1-3) on the season.
The Colonials jumped out to an early 15-5 advantage. However, the Blazers battled back to seize a 25-19 lead on back-to-back three-pointers from junior guard Tyler Barney (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and Nikolas Brown (Wellington, FL) . However, the hosts responded with a spurt of their own en route to the 34-31 halftime lead.
The second half would belong to West Conn., the Colonials erupted for 54 second half points, and would take the game 88-50
Brown was the lone player to tally double figures for Elms, finishing with 10. WestConn dominated the boards, and finished with a 47-34 advantage on the glass. They also forced 30 turnovers for the contest, while coughing the ball up just 11 times themselves.
The Blazers are back in action on Thursday 11/21 when they travel to Rhode Island College at 7PM.
