Chicopee, MA – The Elms College men's basketball team defeated the visiting Lesley University Lynx 98-64 on Wednesday night in their New England Collegiate Conference opener. It was the third straight victory for the Blazers who now stand at 5-8 on the season and 1-0 in NECC play.
The two teams traded baskets for the first nine minutes of the game, with the score 15-12 the Blazers went on a 14-2 run to jump out front 29-16. Elms would continue to build on its lead and take a 41-24 advantage into the break.
The second half belonged to Elms, the Blazers dominated the frame from start to finish and outscored the visitors 57-40.
The home side took the conference game 98-64 behind strong performances from Justin Feliciano (Springfield, MA), Ahmad Conner (Springfield, MA), and Kewan Smoot (Windsor, CT) who combined for 44 points and 17 rebounds. The Blazers also had a 41 point effort from the bench in the win.
Elms plays its next three games on the road, starting Saturday 1/11 at 3PM at Eastern Nazarene College in NECC play.
