Blazers Come Up Short In NECC Action At Dean

Franklin, MA – The Elms College men's basketball team was on the losing end of a 107-98 score at Dean College on Wednesday night. The loss send the Blazers overall record to (5-14) and (1-5) in the NECC.

Dean College snapped a 60-60 tie by embarking on a game-changing, 26-9 run that catapulted them to a 107-98 win over the visiting Blazers. The Bulldogs seized control of the contest during that aforementioned run which featured nine straight points, putting Dean out in front, 86-69.

Elms battled back and whittled the lead down to as few as six on several occasions, but each time the Bulldogs had an answer. After a conventional three-point play from the Blazers' Ahmad Conner (Springfield, MA) cut the lead down to 97-88, the lead jumped back to double digits courtesy of a two-handed dunk by the Bulldogs.

The visitors made one final push, getting to within six again after Connor scored on the interior with 46 seconds left but Dean sealed the win, sinking four free throws surrounded by a layup in the final 36 seconds.

Elms had five players in double digits, led by DJ Edlen's (Price George, VA) 20 points. David Lopez Jr (Willimantic, CT), Kewan Smoot (Windsor, CT), and Justin Feliciano (Springfield, MA) all put up 16 points each in the game.

The Blazers are back on the court Saturday 2/1 when they host Eastern Nazarene College at 12PM in NECC action.
