Cold Shooting Halts Elms Men's Basketball At Dean

FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Elms College men's basketball team never found a shooting rhythm in a 79-37 loss at Dean College on Thursday night.

The Blazers shot an icy 24.1 percent from the field, connecting on 14-of-58 attempts and 3-of-23 3-pointers (13 percent) and Dean took advantage to pick up the lop-sided win. The Bulldogs hit 43.3 percent of their attempts and out-rebounded Elms 47-40.

Greg Metelus scored a team-best eight points for the Blazers (2-20, 2-9 New England Collegiate Conference) while D.J. Edelen added seven points.

Randolf Thurman went 7-of-10 from the field to score a game-high 20 points for Dean, while Jordan Booker chipped in with 13 and eight boards, and Dayvon Russell added a dozen.

Elms will visit Wheelock on Saturday in a battle for NECC postseason positioning.
