Wells' 3-point shooting sinks men's basketball

AURORA, N.Y. – Michal Ohradka poured in a career-high 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting, but the Elms College men's basketball team came up short at Wells on Saturday evening, falling 84-63.

The Blazers shot 38 percent (23-of-61) from the field and outscored Wells 24-18 in the paint, but couldn't keep pace with a sharp-shooting Wells squad that hit 47 percent (28-of-60) for the game and connected of 15 3-pointers.

Elms trailed by a dozen, 39-27, at halftime before Wells exploded in the second half, hitting 10-of-15 attempts from long range to nullify the Blazers' 43 percent shooting performance over the final 20 minutes.

Nikolas Brown finished with seven points on 3-of-6 shooting, and Robert Jean Charles added seven points and four rebounds, going 3-for-3 from the field. The Blazers got 48 of their 63 points from the bench on Saturday.

Macho DeJesus led four Wells double-figure scorers with a game-high 26 points after hitting 6-of-12 from long range. Rich Ross added 19 points, Tyree Fisher finished with 12, and Zach D'Arpino added 12 off the bench for Wells.

Elms returns to action on Jan. 9 when the Blazers host Mitchell in the New England Collegiate Conference opener.
