Redding Claims Fifth Rookie of the Week Award

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College freshman Danielle Redding (Las Vegas, N.V.) was tabbed as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday. Redding becomes the first player in conference history to win five Rookie of the Week honors in a season.
Redding paced the Blazers offense in three matches last week, recording 37 kills, averaging 3.36 kills a set, with 50 digs, and seven blocks. Against Daniel Webster, Redding snared 14 digs with six kills, three blocks and two service aces. During a four-set match at Albertus Magnus, Redding notched her second double-double of the season with 15 kills and 14 digs, along with three blocks and two aces. In a four-set victory over Mitchell, Redding slammed 16 kills with a career-high 22 digs.
Redding and the Blazers will wrap up the 2015 regular season with road trips to Eastern Nazarene Thursday night, followed by their finale at Lesley Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
