Searles Selected as NECC Player of the Week

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College senior outside hitter Christine Searles (Tolland, Mass.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday morning.

Searles was a force on both sides of the net in a 2-1 week for Elms. Searles recorded three straight double-doubles, amassing 40 kills with 50 digs in seven sets of action. In a sweep of Pine Manor, Christine tallied a team-high 10 kills with 13-digs, followed by a 17-16 performance against Rhode Island College. Searles racked up a season-high 21 digs with 13 kills and four aces in a four-set victory over Castleton State.

Elms (3-12, 0-0 NECC) will hit the court next in their NECC opener against Lesley at Picknelly Arena Saturday afternoon.
