FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Elms College junior attacker Jennifer Lough (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and sophomore attacker Chelsey Grabowski (South Hadley, Mass.) netted a goal each, but 14 first-half scores helped lift Framingham State College to a 17-2 victory over the Blazers in Tuesday afternoon's New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) contest in Framingham, Mass.

With the loss, Elms falls to 0-14 on the season, 0-6 in league play, while Framingham State improves to 6-6 overall, 2-3 in conference action.

Framingham State raced to an early 9-0 lead on the strength of three goals from Ashley Noonan (Mansfield, Mass.) and two each from Chelsea Temple (Rutland, Vt.) and Stephanie Corrales (Framingham, Mass.) before Grabowski put Elms on the board 13:57 into the opening period to set the score at 9-1.

Temple added her third goal of the period and Noonan struck three more times to give the Rams a 14-1 cushion at intermission.

Brittany McLean (Walpole, Mass.), Noonan and Temple scored a goal each in the second half before Lough notched the Blazers second goal of the contest 16:13 into the second half to cap the scoring for the game.

Noonan led all scorers with seven goals and won six draws, while McLean added four assists and two goals. Temple and Corrales finished four and two scores respectively in the winning effort. Corrales and Kerry Kiley (Mansfield, Mass.) contributed three assists each.

Elms' senior goalkeeper Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, Mass.) collected 15 saves, while Grabowski controlled four draws in the losing effort.

Elms concludes its season on Friday, April 30 when it travels to Westfield State College for a 6:00 p.m. NEWLA contest against the Owls.
