LEICESTER, Mass. – Elms College received three goals each from sophomore attacker Katlyn Harrington (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and freshman attacker Chelsey Grabowski (South Hadley, Mass.), but Becker College's Morgan Hazen (Woodstock, Vt.) found the back of the net six times and added three assists to help lift the Hawks to a 21-8 victory in Saturday afternoon's New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) contest at Alumni Field in Leicester, Mass.

With the loss Elms falls to 0-13 overall, 0-5 in NEWLA action, while Becker improves to 5-8 on the season, 1-5 in conference play.

Elms netted the first goal of the game when junior midfielder Jennifer Lough (Feeding Hills, Mass.) took a pass from senior attacker Jessica Shea (South Hadley, Mass.) and connected for the score 5:21 into the contest.

Becker answered with three quick goals to take a 3-1 lead, before Harrington struck for her first goal of the game at the 19:13 mark to make the score 3-2. The Hawks then scored seven of the next eight goals to post a 10-3 lead at intermission. Harrington added her second scoring strike of the period to break up the string of scores for Becker.

The Blazers came out firing in the second half, scoring two quick goals, both by Grabowski, to pull Elms to with five (10-5) with 27:44 remaining in the game. Following a Becker goal at the 25:29 mark by Vanessa Laureano (Dracut, Mass.), Elms countered when Harrington tallied her final score of the day to keep the Blazers' deficit at five (11-6).

Four straight goals by the Hawks gave Becker a 15-6 advantage before Grabowski and Lough notched back-to-back scoring strikes to make the score 15-8.

From there, Becker strung together six unanswered goals to secure a 21-8 victory.

Lough finished with a team-best four groundballs, while Harrington won a team-high four draws in the losing effort. Senior net-minder Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, Mass.) delivered 20 saves.

Laureano and Renee Landry (Acton, Maine) netted three goals apiece, while four Hawks finished with two goals in the win. Jennifer Ouellette (Merrimack, N.H.) earned five draw controls, while Amanda Corso (West Haven, Conn.) picked up a game-high five groundballs.

Elms returns to NEWLA action on Tuesday, April 27 when it travels to Framingham State College for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
