Chicopee, MA – The Elms College women's basketball team lost 49-36 at home to the visiting University of Saint Joseph's Blue Jays at Picknelly Arena on Tuesday night.
The Blazers got off to a fast start and took a 5-2 lead on a 3-pt shot from Lashaunte White (Miami, FL). The two teams would trade baskets the rest of the half with USJ taking a slim one point lead into halftime.
The Blue Jays would come out and control the second half, never falling behind. The Blazers would continue to fight back, but USJ would push their lead to 10 points with four minutes to play and never look back.
Angelics Peguero-Flores (Springfield, MA) would lead the Blazers in points and rebounds with 11 and 4 respectively.
Elms opens up conference play on Saturday 11/23 at 2PM when they host Lesley University at Picknelly Arena.
