Two Early Goals Lead To Loss At #10 Eastern Connecticut Univ.

MANSFIELD, CT – The Elms College men's soccer team lost a non-conference game 3-0 on Tuesday night at #10 Eastern Connecticut State University. With the loss the Blazers fall to 1-5-2 on the season.

The Warriors got off to a fast start, taking a 1-0 lead just 34 seconds into the game. Eastern would control most of the play in the opening frame, and doubled their lead in the 18th minute taking a 2-0 advantage into the break.

The Blazers came out in the second half with a ton of energy and pressured the Warrior backline. Elms would narrowly miss cutting the lead in half when Alex Egan (Watertown, CT) dribbled past two Eastern defenders and ripped a shot off of the post. That would be as close as the Blazers would get.  Eastern would put the game away in the 57th minute netting their third goal, and eventuallt take the game 3-0.

Collin Liedke (Newington, CT) was big in goal for Elms making eight saves on the night.

Elms is back in action on Sunday 9/29 when the host Norwich University at 1:00PM on Leary Field.
