Two Early Goals Lead To Loss At #10 Eastern Connecticut Univ.

MANSFIELD, CT – The Elms College men's soccer team lost a non-conference game 3-0 on Tuesday night at #10 Eastern Connecticut State University. With the loss the Blazers fall to 1-5-2 on the season.

The Warriors got off to a fast start, taking a 1-0 lead just 34 seconds into the game. Eastern would control most of the play in the opening frame, and doubled their lead in the 18^th minute taking a 2-0 advantage into the break.

The Blazers came out in the second half with a ton of energy and pressured the Warrior backline. Elms would narrowly miss cutting the lead in half when Alex Egan (Watertown, CT) dribbled past two Eastern defenders and ripped a shot off of the post. That would be as close as the Blazers would get.  Eastern would put the game away in the 57^th minute netting their third goal, and eventuallt take the game 3-0.

Collin Liedke (Newington, CT) was big in goal for Elms making eight saves on the night.

Elms is back in action on Sunday 9/29 when the host Norwich University at 1:00PM on Leary Field.
