Dzidek, Grabowski Earn NEWLA Weekly Honors

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College junior goalkeeper Annette Dzidek (Chicopee, Mass.) and junior attacker Chelsey Grabowski (South Hadley, Mass.) were both named New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) Honorable Mention for the week of March 28-April 3 as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Dzidek was solid in goal for the Blazers, recording 41 saves and a .539 save percentage to help lift Elms to a 2-1 week. The squad posted a 17-12 victory over non-conference foe Daniel Webster College that snapped a 21-game losing streak dating back to 2009, and followed that with a 10-3 win over Pine Manor College. This is Dzidek's first NEWLA weekly honor of the season.

Grabowski was equally impressive on the offensive end, netting a team-best 14 goals and an assist (15 points) during the week, including a six-goal effort in Elms' win over Pine Manor. For the week, Grabowski added 15 groundballs, six draw controls and caused an opponent turnover to help the Blazers to a 2-1 record for the week. This is Grabowski's first NEWLA weekly award of the season.
