Mount Ida College Downs Women’s Lacrosse, 21-0

NEWTON, Mass. – Elms College junior goalkeeper Annette Dzidek (Chicopee, Mass.) fended off 14 shots but an eight-goal effort by Mount Ida College's Ebony Mills (Harrison, Maine) lifted the Mustangs to a 21-0 victory over the Blazers in Saturday afternoon's non-conference women's lacrosse game.

With the loss, Elms falls to 0-2 on the season, while Mount Ida earns its first victory of the season and improves to 1-2 overall.

Mount Ida used a 15-goal first period to stake a comfortable lead, highlighted by five goals for Mills and Danielle Chuba (Wrightstown, N.J.).

The Mustangs used six goals in the final 30 minutes to cap the scoring at 21, as Mills found the back of the net three more times, while Kira Feeter (Keene, N.H.) added two scores.

Jen Thompson (Easton, Md.) added three first-half goals and an assist, while Ali Sarno (East Patchogue, N.Y.) also assisted on three goals in the winning effort.

Mustangs' net-minder Katherine Chousa (Norwood, Mass.) turned away Elms' only two offerings of the afternoon, one each from junior attacker Emily Walsh (Hadley, Mass.) and sophomore attacker Jaclyn Mederios (Brant Rock, Mass.).

Elms returns to non-conference action on Wednesday, March 23 when it hosts Smith College at 4:30 p.m. at Leary Field.
