Women’s Basketball Raises $500 for Alzheimer’s Awareness

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College women's basketball team recently raised over $500 for Alzheimer's awareness which will be donated to the Walk to End Alzheimer's Association.

During Elms' home basketball game against Newbury College on Saturday, February 22, the Blazers wore purple shirts in honor of Carolyn Overmyer, the mother of former player Maryanne Overmyer '12.

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Held annually in more than 650 communities nationwide, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions. Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease, the nation's sixth-leading cause of death.
