Parks Named NECC Player of the Week
NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the fifth time this season, junior forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week for women's basketball as announced by the league organization on Monday.
Elms posted a 2-0 week on the strength of a 19.5 points-per-game and 12.0 rebounds-per-game effort from Parks. Parks, who shot 50-percent from the field during the week, scored 21 points in an 80-72 win over Becker College and 18 points in a 67-53 win over Daniel Webster College. She added 13 of her 24 rebounds against the Eagles and concluded the two-game stretch with four steals. Parks currently has 1,597 total points and is 16 points shy of becoming the program's all-time leading scorer.
