Parks Named NECC Player of the Week

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College junior forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week in women's basketball for the fourth time this season as announced by the league office on Monday.

Parks averaged 24.5 points and 14.5 rebounds while shooting 50-percent from the field during Elms' 1-1 week. Parks' 39 points against Southern Vermont ties the program's single-game record with Tenielle Hill who accomplished the feat against Johnson State College during the 2002-03 season. Parks, who netted 1,096 points during her first two seasons with the Blazers, has scored 408 points this season for a total of 1,504 and is now ranked third on the program's all-time scoring list. Hill is first with 1,612 points (1999-2003), followed by Angel Esposito who scored 1,516 points from 1991-1995.
