Men's Soccer Suffers 8-0 Loss to Utica College

UTICA, N.Y. - Elms College senior goalkeeper Ryan Sullivan (Agawam, Mass.) notched nine saves, but Utica College scored five second half goals and earned an 8-0 win over the Blazers in Sunday afternoon's non-conference men's soccer game.

With the loss, Elms slides to 2-3 on the season, while Utica improves to 4-2 overall.

Utica had five players register a goal including three players who scored two goals to help pace the Pioneers to victory.

Jonathan Wood (Derry, N.H.), DJ Ilebani (Abuja, Nigeria), and John Kamilow (New Hartford, N.Y.) registered two scores each, while Jeff Konieczny (Hadley, Mass.) and Alex Sheridan (East Islip, N.Y.) added one each. Chris Stashko (Apalachin, N.Y.) contributed two of Utica's eight assists in the winning effort.

Pioneers goalkeeper Anthony Caruso (Easton, Conn.) turned away all three of Elms' shots to help seal the win.

Elms returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 20 when it hosts Westfield State University at 4:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
