Men’s Basketball Comes up Short at Colby-Sawyer

New London, CT – The Elms College men's basketball team dropped a road conference game on Wednesday night at Colby-Sawyer College.

THE BASICS:

SCORE: Elms 59, Westfield 71

RECORDS: Elms (0-6, 0-2 GNAC), Colby-sawyer (2-3, 1-0 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

A late first half run by the Blazers got the game to a 29-28 score, but a Chargers block led to a fast break bucket and carried the home side to a 33-30 first half lead.

In the second half Elms jumped back in front leading 34-33, before a 7-0 counter run put the Chargers in front for good. The Blazers had the game to within two with three minutes remaining, but a clutch three from Colby-Sawyer, followed by another triple pushed the game out of reach. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

The Blazers shot (28.1%) from the field

Justin Feliciano (Springfield, MA) posted 12 points, 6 assists, and 7 rebounds on the night.

D.J. Edelen (Prince George, Va.) led the Blazers with 21points.
