Blazers Fall at Home to Owls

Chicopee, MA - The Elms College men's basketball team dropped a non-conference game Monday night to the Owls of Westfield State University 87-54.

THE BASICS:

SCORE: Elms 54, Westfield 87

RECORDS: Elms (0-5, 0-1 GNAC), Westfield (6-2, 0-0 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The first half saw back and forth action with the visitors staying in front of the Blazers. The non-conference game went into the break with the Owls holding a slim 6 point advantage (39-33).

The second half was all Westfield, the visitors shot 52.9% from the field and outscored Elms (48-21) in the frame. The Blazers continued to battle but were unable to cut into the deficit, eventually losing the home game 87-54.

The Blazers were 24-77 (31.2%) from the field

Tahquell Cadle (Bridgeport, CT) posted 8 points, 3steals, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds on the night

David Lopez Jr. (Willimantic, CT) led the Blazers with 9 points.
