LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College field hockey team lost 4-0 to visiting Elms College on Saturday morning at Alumni Field in Leicester.

The Blazers of Elms (5-11 / 4-0 NECC) got on the board in the 24th minute when junior forward Jeszenia McGuire (Brimfield, Mass. / Tantasqua Regional) found the back of the net, assisted by freshman midfielder Evelyn DeVaux (Wethersfield, Conn. / Wethersfield). Ten minutes later, McGuire scored again, this time assisted by sophomore midfielder Olivia Keane (Enfield, Conn. / Enrico Fermi). The teams went into halftime with Elms leading 2-0.

In the 40th minute, DeVaux scored to put Elms up 3-0, with an assist to McGuire.

Finally, with 1:13 left in the game, Elms freshman forward Carissa Ramirez (San Diego, Calif. / Helix Charter) scored to give the Blazers the 4-0 advantage that held up for the final score.

The Hawks of Becker (1-15 / 1-3 NECC) were led by junior goalkeeper Alexis Barry (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) with ten saves. Barry entered the game ranked fourth in the country in total saves. Elms junior goalkeeper Jillian Lapponese (Enfield, Conn. / Enrico Fermi) recorded three stops in net for the shutout. For the game, the Blazers outshot the Hawks, 21-4.

During halftime of the game, Becker senior defender Marissa Domenech (Nashua, N.H. / Nashua) was recognized by her teammates, coaches, family and Becker administrators as part of Senior Day. Domenech has had an amazing four years playing for the Hawks, helping the team win an NECC Championship in 2015 and culminating with her being named a team captain this season. Although her time on the playing field may be coming to an end, she will forever be a part of the Becker family.

Becker will be back on the field on Tuesday when they host Wheelock College in their final home game of the season at 4:00 p.m. Elms hosts Bay Path University on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in their next contest.
