Gabel Captures NECC Weekly Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College sophomore Madison Gabel (Agawam, Mass.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Field Hockey Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday. This is Gabel's first player of the week recognition in her Blazer career.

Gabel helped lead the Blazers to a 2-1 record last week, registering five points with two goals and an assist. During a 2-1 win over Rivier, Gabel provided the assist on the game-winning goal from sophomore Francesca Davitt (East Longmeadow, Mass.). In the Blazers NECC opener against Bay Path, Gabel sandwiched a pair of goals around a tally from junior Madison Messier (Warren, Mass.) to push Elms to a 3-2 victory.

Gabel and the Blazers will be back in action with a non-conference tilt at Clark University Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
