Cordeiro, Fisher Garner NECC Weekly Awards

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College junior shortstop Brendan Cordeiro (Berkley, Mass.) and freshman center fielder Stephen Fisher (West Boylston, Mass.) were tabbed as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively as announced by the league on Monday.

Cordeiro led the Blazers to a 3-3 week hitting safely in all six contests and extended his hitting streak to 12 games. He batted .538 (14-for-26), slugged.808 and had a .586 on-base percentage during the six-game week. Cordeiro also drove in six runs, cracked five doubles, and swiped three bases in addition to legging out a triple. Cordeiro managed four multiple hit games including a four-hit output in a 9-3 victory over Southern Vermont College en route to his first conference accolade of the season.

Fisher batted .458 (11-for-24) and hit safely in five of the six contests en route to his third NECC weekly honor of the season. Fisher amassed a .792 slugging percentage and a .536 on-base percentage, drove in nine runs, smacked a double and two triples, and launched a home run to help pace the Blazers' 3-3 week.
