Baseball's Andrews, Fisher Garner NECC Weekly Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College senior infielder Mike Andrews (Greenfield, Mass.) and freshman outfielder Stephen Fisher (West Boylston, Mass.) garnered New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) weekly honors for baseball during the week of April 12-18 as announced by the league office on Monday.

Andrews, who is currently on a six-game hitting streak, was named NECC Player of the Week and continued to swing a hot bat going 5 for 7 (.714) in the Blazers 1-1 week. Andrews tagged two homers in a 12-7 victory over conference foe Southern Vermont College on April 18, while notching three hits and three stolen bases in a midweek non-conference loss to Fitchburg State College on April 15. Andrews totaled six RBI and scored three runs during the week to help capture his second NECC accolade of the season.

Fisher was named NECC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. The first-year center fielder batted .333 (2 for 6) hitting safely in both contests. He added three runs and went 3 for 3 in stolen bases (all against Fitchburg State) to help Elms to its 1-1 week.
