WORCESTER, Mass. – The Elms College women's soccer squad was tripped up on the road by host Clark University, 3-0, in a non-conference match at Granger Soccer Turf Tuesday evening.

In the 13th minute of play, Clark broke the scoreless tie as senior forward Charlotte Mays found space between defenders in the box, and then fired a shot to the upper right corner of the net, staking the Cougars to a 1-0 lead.

Clark extended their lead to 2-0 with under six minutes to play in the first half as junior midfielder Nikki Feinberg scored the first of her two goals on the day. Feinberg netted her second tally in the 88th minute, off a pass from sophomore midfielder Kara Fischer, to send the Cougars to the 3-0 victory over the Blazers.

Both squads produced double-digit shot totals with Clark edging Elms, 18-12. Blazers junior goalkeeper Alexa Rinaudo (Bellmore, N.Y./Mepham) made a game-high eight saves, while Cougars junior goalie Gabby Paolini stopped four shots.

Elms moves to 2-6 on the season, while Clark picks up their first victory of the season to sit at 1-9. The Blazers will return to the pitch when they host Lesley in a NECC matchup at Leary Field Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
