BOSTON, Mass. – The Elms College men's soccer team upended host Wheelock College, 6-1, in a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) clash at Winsor Field Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Blazers improve to 3-7 and 2-0 in the NECC, while Wheelock slides to 0-2 in conference and 0-8 overall.

Just over four minutes into the first half of action, the Blazers cracked the scoreboard as freshman Michael Lemke (Bristol, Conn.) fired home a finish off a pass from junior John Dunphy (Farmington, Conn.) to stake the Blazers to a 1-0 lead. In the 12th minute of play, the Blazers added to their advantage as Jaden netted his first goal of the day, converting off a feed from junior Shaquille Robinson (New York, N.Y.) to make it 2-0.

With 27:53 remaining in the first half, Elms continued to surge offensively as Robinson fired home an unassisted tally, and then Jaden notched his second tally of the day, delivering the finish off a pass from senior CJ Dabkowski (Bristol, Conn.) less than two minutes later to hand the Blazers a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.

The Blazers carried their momentum into the second half as Robinson notched another tally just over two minutes into the new period. In the 53rd minute of play, Elms senior Kahlil Peters (Hartford, Conn.) potted his first goal of the season to extend the Blazers advantage to 6-0. The Wildcats prevented a shutout as senior Jordan Bernard (Westbrook, Conn.) delivered an unassisted strike in the 56th minute as the Blazers coasted to the 6-1 victory.

The Blazers outshot the Wildcats, 24-18, during the contest. Elms freshman keeper A.J. Oliviera (Beacon Falls, Conn.) made five saves, while freshman Jose Plietez (San Salvador, El Salvador) stopped seven shots and Bernard made three saves in the loss.

The Blazers return to action when they host Western Connecticut State in non-conference action at Leary Field Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Wheelock hosts Mitchell College in NECC play Saturday at Noon.
