Softball Picked Second In NECC Preseason Poll

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College softball team was tabbed second in the 2010 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Preseason Poll as voted on by member head coaches.

Elms, which finished the 2009 season with a 17-14 overall record, received three first place votes and finished with 59 total points, just one point shy of Lesley University who was selected as the preseason favorite.

The Blazers begin the 2010 campaign on March 6 at the Gene Cusick Collegiate Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.
